Let’s dive in, talk a little bit about affiliate marketing, affiliate offers.

This is the truth, and it doesn’t seem like that.

It’s not going to seem like that, but this is just the truth.

You’re going to do as much work for a $17 affiliate sale as you will for a $999, $997 sale.

Are you gonna do the exact amount of work? So again, when you start thinking about, am I going to send this out?

Now, when you think about that larger dollar amounts, you’re not going to get affiliate instant commissions.

On the other hand, so in other words, it could be worth it for you to promote a $997 product.

Just know that you’re probably not going to get paid instantly, right?

So you have to think about that.

So if you’re living on the money you make from affiliate marketing, then you’re probably going to want to stick to lower dollar amounts and things that people are going to buy more readily.

But if you don’t have to have the money tomorrow and you’re going to put a lot of time and effort into your promotion, you want to think about whether or not it’s worth it then to get to find an awesome $997 offer to promote to people.

That’s a good fit.

Now, again, all these other things need to be part of your decision.

I’m going to assume that you’ve taken everything else I’ve said seriously and you’ve made sure that the offer is a good fit, right?

So Jim’s question is, when do you expect to get paid on $997 product?

Typically you’re probably talking about between 30 and 45 days, sometimes 45 to 60.

Because what happens is that the vendor wants to make sure that they’re past a refund period, and once they’re past a refund period, they tend to wait a little bit more till like the beginning of the month.

So I would say that it tends to be 45 to 60 days, right?

But again, if you have to wait a little longer, but you put a lot of effort into it and you got paid more, it could be worth it.

The question then is, what about a payment on smaller dollar products, 17 or 27?

Those things are probably going to be on Zaxa or JVZoo on Warrior.

Plus, as an affiliate, if you have, let’s say, a certain number of sales, you’ll probably get paid instantly.

If you don’t have a track record yet on a network, then it’s going to be more like 30 days at the maximum.

I’d say 30 to 45 days as opposed to 45 to 60.

But you can typically get instant commissions if you’ve made a certain number of sales.

Typically the cut off is going to be 50.

Sometimes the cut off can be 100.

I’ve seen some do cut off at 200 more recently, and all of the networks are now doing, I’d say ratings, right?

So you want to get to know the ratings on Warrior Plus and JVZoo, and you want to see your rating, and you want to see if there would be anything that would cause somebody to look at your profile and say, well, hey, they made 100 sales.

But I don’t oh, boy, that’s a really high refund rate, and I don’t think I want to do business with that person.

Right.

All these things could impact whether or not a vendor would say, yes, I’m going to accept that person to allow them to promote.

Okay.

The more preparation do for a large launch, the more preparation, the better you’ll do.

Right.

So again, this has got to be a time factor.

So again, what I’m saying to you is that it has to be worth it.

Sometimes if you’re going to put in a lot, a lot, a lot of work, then you better make sure that the ROI is going to be worth it, and it’s actually going to convert for your subscriber list.

And obviously, the easiest kind of review to do is going to be one where you purchase a product yourself.

Again, that’s not always going to be possible when you’re working with a launch.

It’s not always going to be possible even if it’s after the launch.

But if you’ve already own a product, then that’s going to be the easiest review to do.

And you can just kind of turn on your video camera and go to work because you can tell somebody how they’re going to benefit most from it.

I’m going to suggest that after this call, you take a look at the launch patterns of larger marketers that produce prize at 997 and up.

I would suggest you take a look at Jeff Walker’s Prize launch formula. Evan Pagan’s, Guru Blueprint.

Frank Kern’s, mass control. Jeff Johnson’s, tube traffic seekers.

Now, again, these are going to be harder to find.

They’re older products, but if you can find the launch sequence in the JV page, you want to read those things because they’re going to give you clues as to how to prepare for a launch.

Okay, so let’s talk about what you’re going to need for an affiliate promotion.

I’m going to suggest you don’t send people straight to a sales page unless you’ve already really seriously presold them.

Before you get there, you want to make sure you’ve added some unique and personal value, right?

Unique and personal value?

What do I mean by unique?

Well, something that is something that you thought about, right?

Something you felt like is good to have with this product.

Because, again, what are we talking about here?

We’re talking about making sure you retain some of your authority.

And so if you don’t add in that this is something you looked at.

This is something that you recommend based on what you’ve seen, and you recommend it based on what you recommend it based on the bonuses you’ve offered.

So it’s not just that the product is great.

Well, the product is great, yes, but it’s also great if you get our stuff too, that sort of thing.

Now, obviously, make sure your bonuses are great.

Make sure that really is true.

Don’t just say that. Make sure your bonuses are unique.

Make sure they are relevant.

Right?

And I have said this before, that just because it is a Facebook product doesn’t mean that anything that you can get with resale rights that has Facebook in it is a good bonus.

It may or may not be.

What you’re trying to do is you’re trying to follow the spirit of what the product is trying to do and you’re trying to match that with something substantive that again gives you the opportunity to promote it.

Make sure your bonuses are connected.

Connected, so what does that mean, connected?

So in other words, they add value to what the product is trying to do.

So again, they’re relevant on the one hand, right?

They’re related, but they’re connected in that whatever the product is trying to help that person do, your bonuses are going to help them do more of it.

I’m going to suggest you try to send people to a landing or presale page.

Now, I know sometimes you might feel like, well, that’s a little overkill and people will click away and they are going to click away, but you need to retain some of your authority.

And I don’t know how you’re going to do that just sending people just to the sales page.

So I’m going to say that even if you include a link that sends people direct to the sales page, try to include one that also sends them to a presale page.

You can presell them with a blog post.

You can presell people with a landing or squeeze page.

Suggest you try to send people to a landing or a presale page.

Now I know sometimes you might feel like, well that’s a little overkill and people will click away and they are going to click away.

But you need to retain some of your authority.

And I don’t know how you’re going to do that just sending people just to the sales page.

So I’m going to say that even if you include a link that sends people direct to the sales page, try to include one that also sends them to a presale page.

You can presell them with a blog post. You can presell people with a landing or squeeze page.

And one of the tools I very highly recommend to do that is going to be optimized press.

Optimized press is very easy to work with to create landing pages very quickly and that can be very clean looking.

And then are you going to do a sales video or not?

Right.

That tends to be are you going to do a sales video on a bonus, test it and see sometimes a sales video is appropriate, other times it’s overkill.

Right.

And you’re not always wanting to slow people down.

Sometimes for certain offers you’re going to want them to see what you’re offering in addition and then go on to the sales page.

If you have a video, sometimes what it does is its lows people down, it gives them more to think about, right?

Again, test it and see if it works the timer.

Use it when it’s necessary, if there is a deadline, if there’s a real deadline.

So if people are going to miss out on an early birds pecial, make sure you put the clock on there and you say that if a launch is ending, it’s ending at midnight.

Say that.

Put the clock in there and say that.

Again, the only reason I say that is because you can write it in your email, you can say it in your sales video, but when you put the clock there it is tangible and it’s visible.

Oh, okay, this launch ends in 7 hours, right?

Otherwise people are busy and they will miss it.

And it’s not because you didn’t say it, it’s not because it’s not happening.

It’s because you didn’t make the point to them.

You didn’t make it visually.

If you can make it visual, then that’s going to help people to say, hey, you know what, if I really want this then maybe I’ll go ahead and get it before the deadline.

Or you know what, this isn’t for me.

Right.

So again, all the clock really does is it says either the price is going up or the Prague is going to go away or something is going to happen.

It’s not going to not be favorable.

Is it a copywriting tactic?

Maybe it is, but you’re also doing the people who are your subscribers a service because obviously you don’t want to see them have to pay more.

You don’t want to see them have to miss out on a bonus that’s being offered.

And so you need to say that specifically.

Now when you do landing pages, try to say as little as possible.

So don’t try to have a lot on there.

Try to have a few visuals and then try to say as little as possible.

Okay?
