Basically, a Skool group consists of four main features:

  1. Community
  2. Classroom
  3. Calendar
  4. Gamification

Within the community people can engage with each other via posts, likes, comments and direct chat messages:

In the classroom your customers can learn by following your courses/training programs…

Via the calendar you can schedule online and offline events such as recurring calls, webinars and meetups for you and your members…

Gamification awards points to members for each ‘like’ they get on their posts/comments. Reach a certain amount of points and you ‘level up’. Rewards can be linked to each level to boost engagement. Leaderboards show the most active members and rewards for each level…

It’s a clean interface, where you can pretty much do two things:

Posting in a Skool community

Both members and admins can post in a Skool community

You can attach files, images, GIFs and videos (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, Wistia, or Bunny.net) to your post. It’s possible to run polls too.

When posting something, you do so in a specific category. 

This helps to keep posts organized. Your members can easily view posts by category via pill menu and use the filter button to sort posts, which is handy for finding specific information quickly.

User profiles, chat and notifications

Each community member also has a public profile page:

On a profile page you can see:

  • All community activity of that person, like what they posted and when, and what they commented on posts by other people
  • Groups created by this person (can be hidden on group level)
  • Groups they are a member of (can be hidden on group level)

Following someone means you get notified whenever that person posts.

Besides that, you can start a 1-on-1 chat (there currently is no group chat feature).

The Simplest Way To Make Money Online

In this video, I’m going to reveal a super simple two-step process that therapists can implement.

This process will help them get more clients, have more booked appointments, and even charge more simply using Skool.

We’re going to take a look at a few examples of people who are already doing this.

I’ll also show you how you can do it too.

The first thing I want to show you is the different Skool communities that exist in the therapist niche.

If we take a look here, I just typed in “therapist,” and you can see various free and paid communities.

Some of these communities have as many as nearly 1,000 members and charge $44 per month.

There are communities in different languages as well.

There is no reason why you can’t do this too.

As I mentioned, this is a two-part video.

The first part will cover how you can actually fill your Skool community.

This is a big question that people often ask.

How do I actually get people to my Skool community?

There are a number of ways you can do it.

The first way is by simply creating content on social media.

Social media is incredibly powerful because people from all over the world need assistance.

Many of these people may not even realize they need help.

You can create content that speaks directly to these people.

For example, if you’re creating content on TikTok, you can talk about the symptoms people are experiencing.

They may know they have a problem but can’t pinpoint exactly what it is.

If you address their symptoms in your content, they will start following you.

Eventually, they will join your Skool community.

You can put a link to your Skool community in your bio or in the description of your videos.

This is a really simple way to start building a community quickly.

The second way to fill your community is by running paid ads on YouTube, Facebook, etc.

You can run paid ads directly to a free Skool community or a paid Skool community.

Either option will work.

The great thing about paid ads is that you can skip the line.

One drawback of organic content on social media is that it takes time.

You have to identify your target audience.

You have to understand their pain points and thoughts.

With paid ads, you don’t have to worry about the algorithm.

You don’t have to do SEO.

You simply skip the line and get in front of your audience as long as you know their interests, desires, and motivations.

The drawback of running paid ads is that it costs money.

You might feel like you’re losing money upfront until you start making it back.

If you’re going to run paid ads, it can definitely work, but you need to weigh the pros and cons for your business.

Another simple way to fill your community is by reaching out to current and former clients.

If you’re a therapist, you probably have a good client database.

You can reach out to these people and offer them an incentive.

For example, you could say, “Hey, if you join my Skool community, I’ll give you a free book.”

This is a great way to attract people.

Usually, the people who join are your best clients.

They are the ones who will sing your praises.

They will help you start building a strong community.

One cool thing about Skool is that it ranks communities based on engagement.

The more engagement you have in your community, the higher you rank.

For example, this community right here is ranked 1,178 among all Skool communities.

It’s not based on the size of the community but rather the level of engagement.

If you create an engaging community, you can move up the rankings quickly.

The higher your ranking, the more people will be attracted to your community.

Another thing you can do is attend local events.

There are often networking events, workshops, and other offline opportunities to meet potential clients.

If you are not attending these local meetups, conventions, and fairs, you may be missing out.

When I worked at a university, I often attended job fairs and education fairs.

At these events, I would see all sorts of people promoting their businesses and services.

This is a great way to build your network and attract more clients.

Another opportunity you have is using your Skool community for paying members.

If you already have people paying for your services, you could offer them an additional layer of support inside your community.

Of course, depending on the type of therapy you provide, HIPAA compliance and privacy laws may be a factor.

However, in certain cases, this could be a great way to add value for paying clients.

There are many other ways to fill your community, but these five methods work particularly well.

Now, let’s talk about how you can actually make more money, get more clients, and book more appointments.

One simple way to increase revenue is by offering additional products and services inside your community.

Skool recently released a feature that allows you to sell courses within your community.

If you have created a course, a workshop, or an ebook, you can now sell it directly in your community.

People will see the value you provide and then check out the classroom section where they can purchase your products.

Another way to increase revenue is by offering more value.

Many people wonder, “Why would someone pay for something if I’m already giving away valuable information for free?”

The reality is, when people see how much they are learning for free, they will assume that your paid content is even better.

Additionally, not everyone will see all of your free posts.

Most of your audience will miss some of your content.

People will pay for exclusivity, direct access, and more structured information.

Another thing you can do is use coupons and discounts.

You can pin posts at the top of your community to promote special offers.

For example, you could offer a 10% discount for the next five people who book an appointment.

You can also offer referral discounts.

If a client brings in a friend or family member, they could receive a discount on their next session.

Another great use of Skool is gathering customer feedback.

You can ask your community what they need help with.

Then, you can create a new product or service tailored to their needs and sell it to them.

This way, you already have a built-in audience that wants what you’re offering.

You can also use your community to test beta features and new ideas.

Your Skool members can act as test users to see what works and what doesn’t.

Building a community of loyal fans is another way to grow your business.

If you develop 100 true fans, they will spread the word about you.

They will talk about how much value you provide and bring in more people.

This makes growing your business much easier.

Another strategy is running free challenges inside your community.

At the end of the challenge, you can offer a discounted booking or paid service.

Free challenges help engage your audience and make selling easier.

Collecting testimonials is another powerful strategy.

It’s one thing for you to say how great you are, but it’s much more impactful when others say it for you.

Screenshot positive feedback and display it on your sales page to boost conversions.

The final way to make more money with Skool is by hosting live Q&A sessions.

Skool has a calendar feature where you can schedule live events.

At the end of these Q&A sessions, you can present a call to action for exclusive services or special offers.

These are all different ways you can use Skool to make more money.
